Welcome to LesJeunes
Birmans!
We are a small CFA/TICA registered Birman cattery, located in the Houston, Texas area. Our goal is to breed healthy, loving, companions and friends for caring people of all ages.
Some of our Birmans go to pet homes, some for exhibiting at cat shows & as pets, and some we keep for future breeding. We strive to pair Queens and Studs who will strengthen the vigor of the breed, and maintain the breed standard.
Babies are confined to the fun cat trees, scratching posts, and toys of the cattery room until they have had their second vaccination, at about 12 weeks. Then, they start learning about 'being raised underfoot' and the rules of living in a home. At this time, also, potential buyers may visit.
We will have rainbow litters: seal point, chocolate, blues, lilacs as well as the lynx points in those colors.
Birmans are extremely sociable, trusting, gentle, loyal, and love being with people. Some want to be lap cats, some prefer to be on the arm of a chair near you or at your feet, but all of them want to be around people.
They are moderately active but not rambunctious; curious but not mischevious; desirous of attention but not demanding. They are NOT outside cats! Like all cats (and people), they need their 'quiet' time, and naps, so don't take it personally when they curl up in quiet spot for a long siesta!
In multi-cat enviornments, they are social and pack-oriented, so if you have other cats or dogs, Birmans make great pets. Birmans are also a great choice for families with children because they are patient, gentle, and very even tempered. We require young children be taught respect and gentle treatment of pets - if you want a loving pet, treat in kind! Birmans are also a popular choice for retired folks and the elderly.
The 'Tricia and Rich Young' home consists of an 10yr. old Siamese mix named Samwise, a 8yr. old Birman seal point neuter, Kelly (Celeborn), GC Hearts & Flowers-our current queen and momma,- and our newest addition, Ch ForHim Joy-in-Grace of LesJeunes (Jaci), a seal point & future queen.
Edelweiss is now retired, and adopted by a wonderful couple; Gali is retired, & she & her youngest daughter, I Love Lucy, are thrilled with the love and attention being Cajun Divas.
10/06/12, Heart gave us a litter of 2 girls and one boy. Sire Lao is on our Poppas page. See the kittens on the kitten pages.
